"Ever send your race results and splits to your non-triathlete friends and they have no idea what they mean? A new company believes it has the answer to your question: animation. Zum LLC takes your race splits and converts them into a mini-movie on your computer."

Triathlete, January 12, 2011

"You may have seen the coverage from the big race in Kona, but ZumTri is bringing a new perspective to the race – as a dynamic virtual replay."

Triathlon Business, October 25, 2010

"Ever wanted to watch yourself performing on the tri course? Zumtri.com recreates races virtually on a race map, allowing participants to watch their performances, and their rivals, virtually after a race from a birds eye view."

"We're Zum-ing... Are You? - USA Triathlon has partnered with ZumTri to make your race results more than a microscopic line of text on a long list of finishers. ZumTri provides and engaging race simulation, where you can watch a virtual replay of your race and see yourself Zum-ing past friends and rivals on the course map."

Triathlon Life, January 6, 2010

"Zumtri has created a program that members will be excited to see for mapping where they are relative to their competition in USAT events," said Tim Yount, USA Triathlon's senior vice president of marketing & communications. "We feel fortunate they chose USAT to be one of their first clients and are looking forward to working with them on some additional enhancements to their programming."

USA Triathlon, November 6, 2009

“It was a heart-pounding, sweat-gushing, leg-punishing affair featuring a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike race and a 13.1-mile run. When the half Iron Man was over, competitors got to do it all over again. But this time, they did it while sitting in front of their computers, where they received a personalized, overhead view of the action.”

The Denver Post, September 24, 2009

"ZumRun and the company's service for triathlons, ZumTri, are the next step in a technology that has been available in road races and other endurance events for years: chips and radio frequency identification tags worn by athletes that allow them to be accurately timed. . . But that seems prehistoric now that she's been able to watch a simulation of her animated self progressing along the marathon course."

Associated Press, September 16, 2009

"Beyond the race graphics, participants can also look at several charts and graphs to help you analyze your ranking for each leg, and where you fit in the overall time of the race. Athletes can also bookmark and share their race results through common social networking services."

What Athletes are Saying

"Now that is super-cool!"

Viewer of Wisconsin Marathon ZumRun

"I was trying to find pictures of the triathalon today and came across this animation (ZumTri) on the tri website. It’s really cool. . . It animates the triathalon (respectively) compared to the other people in the race. But it gives a great idea of the course, how we compared with other racers and where nick was at compared to me during the race."

Harvest Moon Triathlon Athlete

"The results race was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I was able to watch my nephew virtually race in Colorado from Rhode Island"

Uncle of Athlete in Harvest Moon Triathlon

"I like all of it, esp. the fun facts and charts and graphs. It also helped me to prove to the folks back home that I did finish the race!"

"Transition (in ZumTri) cracks me up. It matches how I feel when I'm in there."

Viewer Cranberry TriFest ZumTri

"If you want to see where Justin and I were in relation to each other throughout the race, check this (ZumTri) out. It’s a new results review that is pretty freakin cool. I’m the red dot, Justin is the blue dot. Watch me chase him down the whole race! : )"

Athlete from Cranberry TriFest

The coolest thing about this race though was the virtual race they have at the race website were you can watch yourself run the race, see your self passing people or getting passed. Track yourself against a friend or another runner. You see yourself as a red dot on the course & a little red runner dude on the small screen. Apparently I made my big move, according to the little red guy beginning at mile 13. Right were I was feeling, "oh no screwed up again"
